To the Ends of the Earth
 

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’”
- Mark 16:15

Approximately one billion men, women, and children will go to sleep tonight having never heard the story of Jesus Christ. They’ve never heard how much He loves them; how much He cares for them. They’ve never heard about the sacrifice that He endured for them. They’re simply going through life — many of them in impoverished conditions — without any hope that things will ever get better.

It’s the most tragic thing that many of us can even imagine. And it’s tragic to Jesus, as well. That is why the last thing He ever said to His disciples was for them (and us) to take the Gospel to every creature on Earth.

We at AP take this commission very seriously.

At the beginning of this year, we decided to place an emphasis on getting our materials into the hands of those in the developing world — who may not have the same opportunities to hear about Jesus as those of us in the States. And so we are partnering with our brothers and sisters who have “boots on the ground” in the areas where we are working, and we’re getting the material out.

So far, we have made plans to send 7,500 Truth Be Told’s  to Malawi, Africa and 18,000 of our Early Readers Series to kids in Haiti. For many of these children, this will be the very first book they’ve ever owned. Can you imagine the looks on their faces as they receive them? Can you hear them laughing as they run home to show their parents what they were given at school today? Some of these children are learning to read. How exciting is it that the first thing they learn to read could be something informing them that their existence is not an accident — that they were purposefully created by a God who loves them very much?

1) You can tell us about an opportunity to give away some books.

Are you a member of an organization who is working in an area that could benefit from our materials? If not, do you know someone who is?

Tell us! You can send us an e-mail. You can call us. You can write us a letter. We want to hear from you. 

2) You could tell people about what we’re doing.

Do you have a computer? Do you primarily use that computer to look at Facebook and Twitter? Excellent! Because If you would “like” this post, and “share” this post, and comment on this post, and tweet this post (or however that works), it would go a really long way in getting these books to where they need to go.

You could also talk to members of your congregation. Maybe it’s something they would want to help with.
