Abortion

Every year in the United States of America around one million unborn children are murdered by abortion doctors. Abortion is the killing of a pregnant woman's unborn child. You have probably heard the word abortion many times, but have you ever thought about what the mothers and doctors do in order to abort a baby? (Many abortionists don't want you to know how abortions are performed!) Some doctor's actually use pliers to tear unborn babies into pieces. Some use a knife-like device, and suction from a powerful hose and pump, to chop and suck a baby out of the mother's womb. Another method used, called partial-birth abortion, is when the doctors actually deliver all of the baby except the head, and then puncture the base of the skull with a pair of scissors, before removing the baby's brain with a hollow tube.

This information is very upsetting, yet many people in the world today feel like mothers should be able to choose for themselves whether or not their unborn babies live or die. They believe that since the baby is not yet born, then the child is not really a living human being. But the baby is a living human being!

Do non living beings hiccup, suck their thumbs, or respond to touch, pain, cold, sound, and light? Of course not. Yet unborn babies do all of these things. They have a beating heart and a working brain. They are, beyond any doubt, living human beings!

The Bible reveals that God has a far different view on the subject of unborn children than do people who support the right for women to have abortions. He has taught us in the Bible that unborn babies are living. The prophet Jeremiah spoke of how the Lord knew him before he was ever born. He said, "Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you as a prophet to the nations'" (Jeremiah 1:5). Isaiah said: "Before I was born the Lord called me; from my birth He has made mention of my name" (Isaiah 49:1) These passages show that pre-born infants are considered human beings by Almighty God.

A baby is a human one day before birth, just as the baby is a human one day after birth. The Bible reveals that God considers pre-born babies as real, living human beings (read Luke 1:39-44). The shed the innocent blood of a precious unborn baby is murder, and an abomination to the Lord (Proverbs 6:16-17).
